Favorite Winter Books

Wintertime is a great time to snuggle up with a blanket and a good book. We have several family favorite books for the perfect winter’s night.

The Mitten by: Jan Brett and Graeme Malcolm

The Mitten is a classic children book that everyone will love! One blustery day, a lost white mitten becomes the home to several interesting forest creatures. This book has beautiful illustrations and kids love to guess what is going to happen next in the story!

The Snowy Day by: Ezra Jack Keats

Another classic book for families to enjoy. The Snowy Day follows the adventures of a little boy in the city and everything he gets up to one memorable snowy day.

Snowballs by: Lois Ehlert

An adorable story with wonderfully bright illustrations all about how a family makes snowmen on a wintery day. It is fun to try to figure out all of the things in the pictures use to decorate the snow men.

Stella Queen of the Snow by: Marie-Louise Gay

This story follows the story of Stella and Sam as Sam experiences his first snow storm and discovers  all of the different things you can do on a snowy day.

Sneezy the Snowman by: Maureen Wright

Sneezy the Snowman is a funny story of a little snowman who hates the cold. As his friends try to help warm up he keeps melting and has to be rebuilt. This is also a great story to talk about things that make us hot and cold and how snow melts into water.
